Until recently, Townsend Harris High School had an interim principal. But the school newspaper, The Classic, learned that a permanent one was in sight.
Students here have SAT scores well above the city average and do very well on Advanced Placement exams. Most go on to four-year colleges, including some prestigious ones—and with scholarship aid.
Academics

The event marked the perfect ending to both the girls’ and boys’ indoor track journeys, and a testament of their great legacy.
Throughout the year, the varsity track team has won over twenty medals at different competitions. Their most notable performances include winning the 4 by 800-meter relay and securing third place in the 400-meter dash at the City of New York Championship meet.
This school is a great academic environment for over achievers and it offers a variety of extracurricular activities. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but it is important to be prepared for the heavy workload because the courses can get very intense.
